Speaking during a media interaction yesterday, Rebel Star Prabhas said that politics is not his cup of tea. Describing himself as a total misfit for the field, he shared an anecdote regarding how it felt discordant to him when he stayed put in Mogaltoor to oversee campaign activities of his Pedananna's supporters when he was all of 17.

But can Prabhas really manage to keep himself apolitical?

During the pre-release event of 'Baahubali-2', his Pedananna Krishnam Raju came across as a strong political person when he hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the skies. Earlier, he had campaigned for the Bharatiya Janata Party in UP to woo South Indian voters. After the release of 'Baahubali' in 2015, Prabhas and Co called on Modi.

That too much shouldn't be read into Krishnam Raju's hailing of the BJP at a filmi function is valid. But given the kind of huge popularity that Prabhas now enjoys in non-Telugu States as well, will he be asked to campaign for the national party in 2019? Probably, feelers might already have been sent to him by the BJP strategists through Krishnam Raju.
