The official announcement of the Indian film that will go to the Oscars in 2024 has been made and its not much of a surprise either. The much acclaimed film that has gained the honor is none other than '2018' directed by Jude Antany Joseph. This information has been officially announced by Film Federation of India.
The biggest dream of filmmakers, actors and technicians is to win an Oscar in their lifetime. Every year apart from the Hollywood stable films from various other countries are also considered for the awards. So far A.R. Rahman, Resul Pookkutty, M.M. Keeravani, Kartiki Gonsalves, Chandrabose and few others have bagged the awards in various catogeries from India.
'2018' was made based on the heavy rains and severe floods in Kerala in 2018 that caused huge devastation and cost lives in thousands. Directed by Jude Antony Joseph, the film starred Tovino Thomas, Kunchacko Boban, Asif Ali, Vineeth Srinivasan, Lal, Naren and Kalaiyarsan among others.
The blockbuster film was made on a budget of just 30 crores and collected 200 crores. Let's wait and hope that '2018', which made a record at the box office, will also bring home the Oscar again.
