Jyothirmayi is going strong in Tamil. She is now acting with Vijayakanth in Sabari. The year 2006 has so far been very lucky for the actress.

Her Malayalam movie Moonnamathoral became a blockbuster. Chacko Randaman and Bada Dost witnessed decent openings.

In Tamil, her maiden venture as heroine in Thalainagaram opposite Sundar C completed a 100-day run.

Now she is acting in Vijayakanth's Sabari and also with Sathyaraj in Periyar.

Says Jyothirmayi, 'It is a pleasant surprise for me that I am able to sustain in such a competitive industry'.

Jyothirmayi's Pakal will hit the screens this month.

On choosing her roles, she says, 'I simply go by merit. I look from the actor's perspective. Only if I am convinced that I have a scope to perform, I would accept the movie'.
