A 20-year-old student, Udit Kakar, from Delhi, is in the news for going out of his way to make face shields at his home through 3D printers for healthcare workers. As reported by ANI, the guy began manufacturing face masks for his mother, who is a doctor. Eventually, he scaled up the production for the benefit of many more.
"My mother is a doctor and she required these face shields at the hospital. I want to make these shields available to as many doctors as possible. That's why I am producing 20-25 of them per day. With the 3D printers I have, I am able to do it at a rate of 1 to 1.5 hours per print," he says.
The youngster has got contracts from laboratories in Delhi to produce more.
