'2.0', the biggest thing to emerge from South India after 'Baahubali-2', has bettered the latter's record in Kerala.
August Cinemas has reportedly acquired the theatrical rights of the Rajinikanth-Shankar magnum opus for a price of Rs. 16 Cr in the Malayali state. Hitherto, the Rajamouli-Prabhas-Rana film held the greatest record; it was sold for Rs. 10 Cr or thereabouts for Kerala.
It may be recalled that the theatrical rights for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh put together is valued at Rs. 81 Cr.
Also starring Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson, the sci-fi drama will hit the screens on April 14 (some posters on social media are saying that it's April 27, though).
