Just a few years ago, a Pawan Kalyan or a Mahesh Babu movie making Rs. 80 Cr in its lifetime seemed to be an insurmountable thing. Cut to 2017, the theatrical rights of a dubbed movie have got sold for Rs. 81 Cr.
Of course, it would have been possible only for two people, who are now together: Rajinikanth and Shankar.
The news is that the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana's theatrical rights of '2.0' have fetched Rs. 81 Cr for Lyca Productions' Raju Mahalingam.
Set to hit the screens on January 25 next, the magnum opus will open in a record number of theatres, which will have been freed up two weeks after Pawan Kalyan's film, Mahesh's 'Bharat Ane Nenu' and Balakrishna's 101st film make a BO history.
