'2 States', starring Adivi Sesh and Shivani Rajasekhar in lead roles, is in the news for a controversial reason. Its debutant director Venkat Reddy has slapped a court case on producer MLV Sathyanarayana (Sathi Babu), saying that he has been forced to make "useless changes" to the original script by the producer.
Talking about the controversy, Venkat Reddy says, "I come with a qualification in direction, having completed graduation in filmmaking and assisted VV Vinayak garu. When I narrated the script of '2 States' to the producer, he gave a go-ahead. I successfully shot 70 percent of the film to the satisfaction of my artists and technicians, including the producer. However, out of nowhere, the producer recently started suggesting unreasonable changes to the script, changes which would lead to total deviation from the story if implemented. I am taking legal action against some forces who are trying to besmirch my image through the media and social media to defame me."
The court has sought an explanation from the producer by May 30. Says Venkat Reddy, "I am not just a director but also one of the profit-holders of the project. Nobody but only I can complete the pending 30 percent of the project."
