Rajinikanth was today in Hyderabad to promote '2.0' along with Shankar and Akshay Kumar. At the event, he spoke his heart out.
The superstar said, "Shankar speaking in Telugu here today has surprised me. It was first decided to make a film in 3D. But we didn't want to make it in 3D for the sake of it. We wanted to have a strong subject. Shankar is a magician. If 'Baahubali' became such a big hit, it's because of its subject. The grand scale was an addition. In the same way, '2.0' is a combination of high-end technology and story. Combination is very important."
He then said, "There is no need to promote this movie as the audience's expectations are already sky-high. Advance bookings are great. I was excited to watch my first movie. After 43 years, I am equally excited to watch my film again. About 45 percent of the movie comprises of visual effects. We had to act by imagining things. This is a breakthrough movie in Indian film history."
Rajini added, "As Shankar has said, this movie has to be watched in 3D format for the best experience. Shankar made this movie with greater confidence than in the case of 'Robot'. At one point, he was restless that the visual effects didn't turn out to be the way he expected. Eventually, everything worked right."
Rajini said that doing 'Robot' was more challenging than doing '2.0'. "Only during the time when I was not well, did I feel the difficulty," he added.
Rajini is doing movies in quick succession. Can we say his energy is greater now than in the past? "Yes, you can say," the superstar said. And this energy will next be transferred to which field? "Spirituality," Rajini said. Is it not politics? The superstar answered it with a smile!
