Speaking at the trailer launch of '2.0', Rajinikanth was stunning. He spoke humbly yet powerfully.
"I can tell you that '2.0' is going to be a super duper blockbuster. I congratulate (producer) Subaskaran and Shankar in advance," Rajinikanth began saying.
He described Shankar as a magician (earlier Akshay Kumar said Shankar is a scientist). "He is the Indian James Cameron and Steven Spielberg. Shankar never falters. '2.0' is a thrilling tale of how technology affects us," the superstar said.
The 'Kaala' actor addressed the criticism that promotions for the film have been inadequate. "Let me say that we don't want to burden the producer anymore. After watching our product, the audience will become the promoters themselves," Rajini said in his inimitable style.
He tried to sell '2.0' as everybody's outing. Be it children, adults, intellectuals or pseudo-intellectuals, they all are going to embrace it.
"When we started it, the budget was expected to not cross Rs 350 crores. It's now around Rs 550 crores. The film will collect double its budget," Rajini added.
Rajini revealed that he wanted to quit the film and return the advance four days after the shoot began! "I told Shankar that my body wasn't cooperating. But the director told me my mere presence is enough," Rajini said.
"Shankar has taken Tamil cinema to next level. With '2.0', he will take Indian cinema itself to the international stage," Rajini thundered.
The superstar surprised everyone by describing Rajamouli and Rajkumar Hirani (besides Shankar) as "the gems of Indian cinema".
