The first hit of the year '1983' celebrated 100 days last week. Directed by fashion photographer Abrid Shine, this sports film released on January 31, 2014 went on to become the surprise hit of the year. The movie which used the nostalgic passion about cricket told about the cricket loving people of a humble village in Kerala.

Nivin Pauly who did the lead role as Rameshan bagged his first super hit after 'Thattathinmarayathu' . Anoop Menon, Joy Mathew, Nikki Galrani, Srinda Ashab, Jacob Gregory, Shine Tom Chacko, Saiju Kurup,and Dinesh were seen in prominent roles in the movie which was scripted by the director along with scenarist Bipin Chandran. Pradeesh Varma wielded the camera and Gopi sunder composed music for the movie.

The movie makers also celebrated the event,holding a cricket match with the kochi press club, which was also won by the filmy team. The 100 day special show was held at P V R Cinemas where all the fans of the film were invited.
