The Adyar residents in Chennai were shocked by the brutal murder of a 18 year old maid by her owner Sushmitha Priya.  Police have arrested her along with her cousin cousin Mithrachini who have confessed that they beat her up severely and also poured boiling water on her.

The unfortunate girl Mahalakshmi was hired by Priya's husband Muruganandam from Andhra Pradesh three years back.  During  the interrogations it has come to light that the two women living at the costly Shastri Nagar have been ill-treating the girl previously too alleging her of killing their laboradar and pomeranian dogs.  They have also claimed that Mahalakshmi physically abused Priya's eight year old son Sai Balaji.  Another suspicious activity of the women is that they have disconnected six surviellence cameras fitted on their property and have also not given the girl medical treatment for close to four days before she succumbed to her sever injuries.
