Animal activist Sai Vignesh is raising funds to start a sanctuary and medical dispensary for animals in Chennai. The 18-year-old has had a special bond with animals from the age of 7. He has been actively involved in rescuing and caring for animals that have been abandoned, finding them a new home. It has been his dream to start the sanctuary but he has been waiting to get the resources and plan ready.
The young man has helped several animals during the Chennai floods and Vardah cyclone. He has also actively been fighting animal abuse by filing cases and bringing about awareness. Working to develop websites, Vignesh is using most of his income on the sanctuary. He names his grandparents as his inspiration. He reported: “As a child, I had seen my grandparents feed stray animals. They were my source of inspiration and told me that helping those in need is the purpose of life. Today, my grandfather is no more, but I want to carry out his message, and this sanctuary would be a milestone for us.”
Vignesh is trying to raise Rs.10,00,000 to establish the sanctuary in an area of two acres with rooms for the animals and caretakers, a medical dispensary and an outer fence. Details of his sanctuary, the Almighty Animal Care Trust can be found in this link: https://milaap.org/fundraisers/animalsanctuary
