18 cops quarantined after accused tests COVID positive

On Monday, as many as eighteen police officials from Kerala's Tirur were quarantined after two accused, arrested in two separate cases, tested positive for coronavirus. Reportedly, the accused were arrested by a group of police officials, including a sub-inspector. All of them who were involved in the arrest of the accused were directed for a quarantine. Meanwhile, the two accused have been admitted to the COVID-19 specialty hospital.
On the other side, following an increase in the number of people contracting the deadly disease through contact with the infected persons, the district of Trivandrum has been put under triple lockdown since Monday On Monday, 193 people tested positive for coronavirus, taking the total number of active cases in the state to 2,252.
