The incident of a 17-year-old boy being appointed as an Assistant Presiding Officer at a polling booth in IS Sadan's Singareni Colony in the GHMC elections has sparked a row. When a party agent spotted the boy, objections were raised. A video of the boy being confronted has been doing the rounds on the Internet since Tuesday.
A Congress leader tweeted out the video and asked the High Court of Telangana to order a probe. "Yet another glimpse of fraudulent #GHMCElection2020. How come a 17-year-old student be appointed as Assistant Presiding Officer. Shame on you, Telangana State Election Commission. Urge Hon’ble HighCourt of Telangana to launch an inquiry on this fraudulent elections," tweeted out Dr Sravan Dasoju of the Congress.
At the time of writing, the SEC didn't issue an official statement on the discrepancy.
