15 Year Rivals Nadal and Federer Meet Again

The time has come. There’s just one day to go for the Roland-Garros semifinals and the two tennis legends Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are facing each other once again. In the 39th match between the two, Clay King Nadal will be looking to win his 12th French Open title. The record right now between the two stands at 23-15 with Nadal taking the lead. He also dominates in clay tournaments with an overwhelming majority of 13-2.

Speaking about tomorrow’s match, Nadal mentioned: “Having Roger in the semi-finals is an extra thing. We shared the most important moments of our careers together on court facing each other. So it’s another episode of this, and I’m happy and excited. It will be a special moment, and let’s try to be ready for it.” The Spanish tennis player looks all set to win the title. He defeated Kei Nishikori 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 in the quarter-final. He has only dropped one set in the tournament.

”My next opponent is not too bad. He can play on clay, unfortunately. What a pleasure, actually. If I decided to come back to play on clay, it was maybe to play Rafa,” Federer said smiling. He will be returning to the French Open after 4 years. Nadal, however, has recognized this as a chance for his opponent to win. He said: “Roger came back on clay because he’s a player who plays well on all surfaces and on clay he has good chances of winning. One thing is that he feels physically ready. He’s coming back because he wants to do so. And if he feels in good shape physically, well, he should not leave out a main part of the season.”

With 91 wins and just 2 losses in Roland-Garros, Rafa has defied probability and seems pretty much invincible. But it’s not going to be easy defeating The Swiss Maestro either.
