S. Sai Srivatsan a fifteen year old State Level swimmer died tragically while training at the Velacherry Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu campus. According to reports Srivatsan hailing from Tambaram came to the faciltiy with his father only two days earlier to train.

On Sunday It is reported that while doing his laps inside the water Srivatsan feld severe back pain and came to the surface wheezing heavily. He immediately fell unconcious and the coach and the staff tried to give him first aid and revive him but were unsuccessful and he was shifted a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.

It is a heavy blow for Srivatsan's father as his wife passed away only six months back and he had volutarily retired from his government service with the sole aim of making his son a champion swimmer which was not to be.
