11 people die and several hospitalized after eating Temple Prasadam

In a tragic incident, 11 people were killed and 90 hospitalized after consuming prasadam at a temple function. It is said that the food consumed by the people was tomato rice and it is suspected that pesticides mixing in the food should be the reason. The Kichu Maranada Temple is located at around 160 kms away from Bengaluru in Karnataka where a foundation stone laying ceremony was conducted when devotees who gathered in the thousands.
Witnesses say that tomato rice and colored water was served and then people started complaining of stomach pain, vomiting and respiratory problems obviously from food poisoning. The sick people were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals where it was a challenge to provide ventilators for all those who had trouble breathing. Hundreds of crows who had eaten the leftover food too have been found dead at the location. Two persons from the Temple administration were arrested and a case has been registered and investigations have started.
