Mai Handique, aged 100, is now a happy woman. One of the oldest COVID-19 patients in the world till the other day, she has successfully recovered from the infection. Mai was on Wednesday discharged from the Mahendra Mohan Chowdhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati amid singing and celebrations by hospital staff.

Mai took a proper diet (fish, meat, eggs or banana) during her 10-day stay at the hospital. From chappatis to vegetables, everything was supplied to help her stay fit.

Although the doctors at the hospital were worried because of Mai's age and the fact that she suffers from hypertension, her resolve and positive-mindedness helped her beat the infection.
