Who says the '100 Days' era is over. Not for 'Baahubali-2'. At least in Japan. Yes, the magnum opus has completed a successful 100-day run in the East Asian country.
"Baahubali-2 released in Japan on 29th December. It has crossed 100 days in theatres and is presently in its 15th week, having already grossed over USD 1.3 million! A big thank you to Japanese fans for the love and our Japanese distributor @movietwin2 for a great release!" producer Shobu Yarlagadda says.
Although the collections may not be huge compared to its overall business, sections of Japanese have literally deified the Indian movie, making it a special one for Tollywood and India. For example, Baahubalian fan art became quite an interesting facet of the movies' popularity in that country.
One of the reasons the magnum opus has impressed the Japanese is because the "the central plot of the 'Baahubali' films is not too different from the myth of the Kishuryuritan in Japanese literature and mythology."
