Prime Minister Narendra Modi has instructed the government departments and ministries to recruit as many as one million new individuals to various posts in the Centre government by the end of 2023. The Prime Minister's Office today tweeted about the same.
PMO, in its tweet giving out basic information, wrote, "The PM reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the government in a mission mode in the next 1.5 years." Further details are awaited.
The large-scale recruitment drive is expected to plug the capacity gaps in the government. "Urgent capacity building is needed at so many levels," a Twitter user said.
Very soon, the government is also going to announce recruitments to the defence forces. "The Agnipath recruitment scheme is also likely to be announced today for defence forces," tweeted a journalist.
The recruitment drive is expected to reduce unemployment to an extent. In a country where the craze for sarkari jobs is huge, applicants for government jobs are sometimes hundreds of times the vacancies.
PM @narendramodi reviewed the status of Human Resources in all departments and ministries and instructed that recruitment of 10 lakh people be done by the Government in mission mode in next 1.5 years.
