The 10th Bengaluru International Film Festival rocking with top international films from 22nd February to March 1 is likely to witness huge attendance this year in addition to previous years. That is because of the declaration of holiday of Kannada Film Industry activity on opening day 22nd February and valedictory day March 1.
On these two days the turn out from the Kannada cinema industry would be more and for participation in good strength the holiday has been declared says Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President Sa Ra Govindu.
The Bengaluru International film festival is hailed as one of the best in the country and the government participation is a major boost for it. recently South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce appreciated the support of Karnataka chief Minister for the celebration of the festival of films.
For the 10th Bengaluru International film festival already 800 films from various parts of the country have come. In that 53 best foreign films are already marked. The maximum of films selected at 10th Bengaluru International Film Festival will be 150.
The festival is at Orion Mall PVR in 11 screens at Rajajinagara and likely to be in three screen at Mantri Mall in Malleswaram.
The valedictory of last year event was held in front of Mysuru palace. This year it will be taking place in Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha.
Already 74 Kannada films have made entry to various categories of awards and the date for submission to competition is extended up to 5th February. Six commercial films will be in the fray.
