1 (Nenokkadine)
Mahesh Babu's '1-Nenokkadine' is releasing next week, the tenth of January with a plan to penetrate into the Pongal euphoria of Telugu speaking people. As the industrywallahs say, Pongal has always been a strong time for the Superstar Mahesh Babu even from the days of his father Krishna. Mahesh had a great chemistry with the Sankranthi crowds with his films capturing the Box Office time and time again.
`1-Nenokkadine' has several other names to add to. Sukumar the director, Devi Sri Prasad the composer are pairing up for the first time with Mahesh. Crew list has other impressive names like Ratnavelu, Karthik Srinivas etc. Krithi Sanon the Bombay beauty has already struck a chord with the young people with the one trailer that was launched which she is begging Mahesh to fall in love with her.
The producers' trio Ram, Gopichand and Anil representing the 14 Reels Entertainment are quite kicked up and why not. They could sell the worldwide distribution rights to Eros for a mindboggling figure and news are coming about the satellite rights too and if the numbers are to be believed, the producers are already sitting on a huge table profit.
So, with all the pieces perfectly in place, where could the film possibly go wrong. It could only be the pre-release hype and the expectations built among the fans and audiences. We have had films earlier with the same kind of anticipation falling flat at the Box Office. And looking at the prices the film has been sold to, it only dawns that the film has to be a 100 Crore venture to ensure its not a cost failure for the distributors too.
Also there is a competition in the form of Ram Charan Tej's `Yevadu' which is releasing on the 12th, which could prove to be a dark horse and if the film is any good, it will also eye for a slot in the coveted club. So, with the company of Ram Charan Tej, Mahesh cannot announce that he is the lone conqueror, well, at least till the 12th January release of `Yevadu'.
