Twitter Inc Chief Executive Officer Jack Dorsey has announced that he has pledged $1 billion of his stake in Square Inc, the payments processing company co-founded and headed by him to help Coronavirus pandemic relief efforts.
Making it official on Twitter, Jack Dorsey said that the amount which is 28% of his wealth will be donated to his charity fund Start Small LLC which will focus on universal basic income and education and health facilities of girls.
Jack Dorsey also revealed that all donations to and from the fund will be visible to public through a public document. As estimated by Forbes, Jack Dorsey's net worth is $3.3 billion, and he's pledging stakes of Square and not Twitter as he holds more stakes of Square.
I’m moving $1B of my Square equity (~28% of my wealth) to #startsmall LLC to fund global COVID-19 relief. After we disarm this pandemic, the focus will shift to girl’s health and education, and UBI. It will operate transparently, all flows tracked here: https://t.co/hVkUczDQmz
