Bollywood actress Vidya Balan was considered as bad luck as her first film was shelved all of a sudden. Consequently, she got replaced in most of her forthcoming projects and hence was referred to as jinxed.

Recently in an interview, she said, “I think when I first did my feature film with Mohanlal in Malayalam, I got 7-8 film offers after my first schedule. The only problem was that the film got shelved after the first schedule. So not only did the film get shelved, but I was also replaced in all other films. I was labeled jinxed after that.”

The actor continued saying, “It is ridiculous. I don’t believe in it. I am not a superstitious person. I don’t think any success or failure can be attributed to anyone else. You know sometimes things don’t work out. I was heartbroken when I was replaced in all those films. I was thrown out of a very big Tamil film at the time.”

She also said that her breakthrough was when she met Pradeep Sarkar, who cast her in the Euphoria music video ‘Kabhi Aana Tu Meri Gali’ and then in ‘Parineeta’. She also expressed how she would vent her anger out. Since her father would not be available at home as he heads out for work, she had the habit of directing her anger and agitation towards her mother. Her mother used to calm her down by advising prayers, mediation.

Albeit such embarrassments and struggles, she slogged ceaselessly to attain her current stature vanquishing every difficulty that approached her.
