Bhaskarabhatla Ravi Kumar has been busy writing songs ever since he made his debut 12 years ago. In a journey filled with several beat oriented numbers, he seems to have been making the most of the opportunity to write a tear jerking number in the dubbing film ‘Preminchali’, produced by Suresh Kondeti, directed by Susheendran.

Speaking about the song that comes in the climax and depicts the characters’ repentance about a mistake, the lyricist was all emotional himself. He shared the experience of how Suresh initiated it showing the Tamil original song, then the film and how inspired, though initially overwhelmed, about the prospects of writing such a song and the reactions after the songs was written, first of his wife, then Suresh and the unit members. The satisfaction of a poet when someone responds to his poem is immense and it was evident in his speech.

He shared that director Maruthi, who was a fan of the original song, was so taken by the Telugu version that he had him sung many times again and again saying the words used match the quality of the legend Veturi himself. He thanked Suresh for the opportunity, director for such a poignant situation and the composer for a beautiful melody. He also said the song will stand out as one of his best in his 12 year old career.

Bhaskarabhatla said he has written three songs in the film including the one in subject and two bit songs that come as BG score but enhance the value of the story.
