Director Maruthi, who has supervised the direction of recently released horror thriller 'Prema Katha Chitram', is ecstatic at the success of the movie. He said that he will make more, and more films like this and he will not restrict himself to a particular genre of films, and entertaining audience is his main objective.

He also said that the overseas collections are also very good and thanked Sudheer Babu, for believing in him,the heroine Nanditha,the other actors, the music director, for his brilliant work, and all who have made the movie a big hit. He also said some things about his upcoming film 'Kotha Janta' with Allu Sirish etc.

Here is his exclusive interview to Indiaglitz

You have proved that you can also make healthy comedy movies with 'Premakatha Chitram', though you have made adult comedy movies previously. What care have you taken while making this movie ?

The adult comedy elements have suited 'Ee Rojullo' film, so I have incorporated them. It is true that they have crossed the limit in 'Bus-stop'. As the youth received 'Ee Rojullo' well, I have repeated them in 'Bus-stop' to entertain them. But, I have balanced it with the parent's sentiment.

'Premakatha Chitram' is a subject, which needs no such elements in it. I have so many healthy comedy subjects like this with me and will make more and more of them. My upcoming film 'Kotha Janta' will be a pure comedy entertainer with a very good message.

You have only supervised the direction for 'Prema Katha Chitram'. What is your role in the success ?

I think the birth of the point of this film in my mind is the first success. I strongly believe that only well written movies will be successful rather than well directed. Any body can direct, but getting an idea is important. The film is successful because of the team work. But I proudly say that the credit goes only to me for generating the story.

'Premakatha Chitram' is a film balanced with romance, horror and comedy. Some movies like 'Muni', 'Kanchana' etc have also come in that genre. Have you inspired from them ?

I openly say that I am not inspired from any movie. I have scene some portions of 'Muni' in T.V, and I have not seen 'Kanchana', though some have suggested to watch it. I did not get the CD of that movie, and I even asked Suresh (Bellamkonda Suresh) sir for it.

But if we watch a particular movie, there is a fair chance of getting inspired from some scenes when writing the script. And I don't like the image of a copy cat. So I have written whatever I have got in my mind and went to he sets. The story is my brainchild.

Though you have taken 'Nanditha' for Bus-stop initially, you have dropped her later. What is the reason for her inclusion in this movie ?

Actually, I thought of taking Nanditha for Bus-stop itself. But I've doubted whether she will be apt for a middle class girl character or not and kept her aside. But I had the feeling of missing a good actress from then. For Premakatha Chitram movie, I thought she will be very apt for the role . When we approached her, she doubted if she can do the role. But I have convinced her that I had the confidence in me how to extract the required output out of her. When I was explaining the scenes at the sets, she used to give the required output in the first shot itself and used to get perfection in the third shot.

Today I am very happy at she being praised by all for her outstanding job and a Telugu girl bagging good name with my film doubles my joy.

Some defects in Sudheer Babu, like his voice were revealed in his previous movie 'SMS'. How did you take care to cover them ?

Any hero will have some defects in him. A director's job is to cover those defects and to show his positives. Sudheer Babu can dance very well. Many have said that his voice will not be good, but I don't think so. I have seen 'SMS'. I think his voice modulation is not good in it. The audience did not feel it in this movie.

He has worked very hard for this movie. His dedication is so good that, he tries to give 100% output every time and he will definitely become a top hero in a very less time.

How did you feel watching this movie onscreen ? Were you scared of whether the movie will work out before the release ?

I was not scared of any particular aspect in this movie.The first half in the movie will not have so much comedy. It is not hard for me to include comedy in it. But I thought that it is not fair to include comedy force fully in between. So I have not done it. Even my friends said that the first half is weak and second half is excellent pre release. But after the release, we are very happy when audiences are saying that the first half is also superb.
