Telugu filmdom is always known for its remake syndrome. producers and directors almost wait eagle-eyed for success in other languages to be remade in Tollywood. Many times they have been vindicated.

But last week things were exactly opposite.

Three Telugu versions of hits elesewhere bombed dramatically at the box-office.

Puttitikki Raa Chelle, a copy of the Kannada flick Tavarige Baa Tange, with Arjun and Meena has opened to poor collections.

And then, Khushee Khusheegaa, a remake of Malayalm hit Chronic Bachelors, has not opened to any great collections. And then, Nenu, the Kadhal Kondhein remake, is also not expected to do well.

Moral of the story: Success is not generic.
