The music of Damarukam, Devi Sri Prasad's 50th film, was hugely awaited by the fans of Nag as well as of DSP. Fittingly enough, DSP thanked everybody from Kodi Ramakrishna to Nag himself for the obvious reasons. While Kodi introduced him with Devi, it was scoring for Manmathudu that turned DSP into a household name across the length and breadth of the State.

"It was after Manmathudu my popularity increased by many times. I am happy to cross the 50-films milestone with a Nag film. I thank Kodi Ramakrishna garu for giving me the opportunity to lend music for Devi. I will never forget him," he said.

DSP also thanked his aide Chitti, who has been instrumental in inducing him to think in a new way film after film. "Chitti's suggestions stir up new imaginations in me," he noted. Chitti has been there with DSP since the days of Devi.
