Prabhas's fans may be dissatisfied about the fact that Rebel has long been deferred rather inordinately. Thanks to the rumour mills and some reports, the blame has been put on Raghava Lawrence for the unbearable delay.

Speaking at the teaser launch of the much-awaited film, none sought to put the record straight (if it needed to be put straight). However, what the director said should be music to ears. "Ever since I started working on the script, my only aim was to characterise Prabhas' character in a way that he had never done such a role. I worked with that burning passion in mind."

He added that his aim was to make Prabhas be surprised at his own performance. "I wrote his character in such a way that he would wonder whether it was he who had acted it. The film is going to be a sort of festival for all his fans."
