Veedu Theda star Nikhil of Happy Days fame was suspected for drunken driving by the police when they detected something 'theda' in the way he was driving. They stopped him near the NTR Trust Bhavan and administered a breath test, which he tested positive. The incident took place on Friday night at Banjara Hills.

Nikhil, as the result, was booked under Section 185 A of Motor Vehicles Act. He will appear in court on Nov. 14.

The actor reportedly tried to wriggle himself free of the affair by trying to contact an influential person close to him. To his disappointment, the cop who booked the actor decided to go his way.

The actor told a newspaper, "My movie Veedu Theda is set for release so I attended the promo meet at our office in Jubilee Hills. We had a small party and I took some champagne. I was returning home to Begumpet alone. There was no one else in the car. They stopped me at NTR Bhavan, did a breath test and served me a notice. I am nervous now as this has happened at the time of the release of my movie and usually I don't drink."
