By his own candid confession, Balakrishna did not think twice before giving his nod for Sri Rama Rajyam. He said this as much, exuding confidence, on the occasion of the release of publicity posters and calender of the movie. Much like Balayya who resolved to do the film at the first instance, those who have seen the Yuva Ratna in Lord Rama's get-up too have instantly fallen in love with his look.

"You are going to listen to my mythological dialogues soon. I could pull off the role because of my lineage with my father (the legendary NTR). We have great directors in the film industry. We should get inspiration from the treasure trove of our literature and cultural heritage. The producer (Yelamanchi) Sai Babu could do it," Balakrishna said. In what may be called an irony of sorts, Balayya was in Ravana's costume shooting for a scene in Parama Veera Chakra when Sai Babu approached him with the offer. Balayya also vouched for Illayaraja's music.
