It has become a trend to auction the implements used by popular heroes in hit films. It was first the costumes in ‘Adhurs’ of NTR and then Ram Charan’s ‘Magadheera’ sword and shield, later it was the old bicycle in ‘Maryada Ramanna’ which were auctioned and the proceeds are meant to be used for the welfare of poor and old film artistes or for any other good cause.

In the same process, the axe used by Balakrishna in ‘Simha’ was auctioned recently. Two NRIs Garikapati Venkat and Jitendra Atluri of New Jersey paid the highest bid of Rs 5 lakh and Balakrishna presented them the ‘axe’ at a function held at Film Chamber in Hyderabad.

Director Boyapati Srinu, Paruchuri Prasad, Sekhar Sunkara and others were present. The programme was organised by MAA.
