Kollywood superstar Vijay's film Kuruvi, is being dubbed in Telugu as Dopidi. The film is ready for a release soon. B Satyanaraya Reddy, who is releasing the film under the banner of Abhi Pictures, said that the film is about an ordinary youth, born into a middle-class family, who goes about robbing a millionaire's illegitimate money.

The film is directed by Dharani, the successful director of films like Gilli and Dhool. The film has fared average at the box office in Tamil Nadu. The film has music by Vidya Sagar and is presented by J Madhusudhana Reddy. Suman has portrayed the role of a mafia don in the film. Also seen in the film are Mallavika, Nasser, Asish Vidhyarthi, Vivek and Jeevi in important characters. It has dialogue by Rajasekahra Reddy.

Given that Dharani's style of making has not been much appreciated in Telugu (read Bangaram), it is to be seen if a Tamil dub works in the state. Nevertheless, his films boast of idealistic characters and romance. They show the frustration of the exploited in an effective way. Coming to Dopidi, the publicity is Trisha-oriented, who is any day more popular than Vijay in AP.

Let's see if Vijay's dubbed film will be liked by the audience here.
