The bilingual in Tamil and Telugu ‘Payanam’ involving Rs.11 crores budget is the next venture from Duet Movies. “Payanam is the most expensive film of my banner”, disclosed Prakash Raj speaking to a few journalists after the launch of his maiden Kannada directorial venture ‘Naanu Nanna Kanasu’ on Saturday evening.

The script for this is inspired from Kandahar Hijack. Prakash Raj has gone through ‘Flight to Fear’ book and contacted two families in Tiruchi who were on board during the Kandahar Hijack. Prakash Raj has added lot of human emotions in this film. 15 minutes after the take off the flight from Chennai the hijack drama starts and it is forced to land in Thirupathi airport. As the major portion of the film is done in the Thirupathi Airport and special permissions are not that easy he has decided to erect Thirupathi Airport set at Ramoji Rao film city, say the sources.

Prakash Raj plays the role of an official from Prime Minister Office in ‘Payanam’.
