The well acclaimed ‘Premiste’ may have attracted audience and awards, but it has not put few people at peace. When the movie was released, there was a small controversy dealing with few school scenes in the movie. And now it has cropped back in light again.

The movie dealt about a love story between a school girl (Sandhya) and a garage mechanic (Bharath). There were several occasions when St. Joseph School was shown in the background, where the heroine studied in the movie. This attracted the wrath of the school authorities who claimed that the scenes were shot without any prior permission by the movie makers. Also, it generated serious concerns from the student's parents. This made Ms. Jeyarani, the director of the school, and other staff to bear with false assumptions of getting related with the movie’s story.

Now the school wants the movie’s director, Balaji Sakthivel and producer, Shankar to pay-up Rs. 20 lakhs as compensation for their troubles. Ms. Jeyarani had also filed a case with the police against the movie. The director and producer of ‘Premiste’ are asked to appear in the court on August 9, 2009 to deal with the matter.
