'Athili Sathibabu LKG' went on to do good business for a comedy film. But the biggest surprise hit of the year was in this month – 'Dhee'. Vishnu-Genelia starrer directed by Sreenu Vaitla was not only a hit, but made Vishnu a hot property in the industry. Genelia is still collecting her awards for the film. The film had to face a lot of problems before its release, as no one came forward to complete the film after the producer couldn't generate money to finish it. Then, there were no buyers. But once it released, it broke records and proved that no one can judge the mood of the audience and predict what will work and what wouldn’t with the audience. The film’s storyline and the entertaining way in which it was told, did the trick for 'Dhee' and we all loved it.

Then there was a huge disappointment in 'Classmates', as there were a lot of expectations from Vijayabhaskar. However, he failed to live up to them and then there was 'Aadavari Maatalaku…' which was a welcome hit for Venkatesh. Like most of his films in the past few years, this too was targeted at the women audience and kids. But it did the trick and gave Venkatesh the first hit of 2007. Despite the strong Tamil flavour, it worked at the box-office.

Dubbing films:

Dada, Ee, Bada Dost, 300 Yodhulu, Neevalle Neevalle, Devi Putrulu, Adhbuta Deepam, Beauty 009, Tararampam, Andala Mohini, Kashmora Deyyalu, Super Style.

Of these, 300 Yodhulu and Tararampam need special mention as one was a mega Hollywood production and the other, was a film by Yashraj banner starring Saif and Rani Mukherjee. The film didn’t do well both in Hindi and in its dubbed versions.
