Konidela Sivashankara Varaprasad is the eldest son of Anjana Devi and Venkat Rao belonging to Mogaltur village in Godavari district. At the time of his birth, no one might have expected that he would become the heartthrob of the people of Andhra Pradesh by becoming a Supreme Hero, Mega Star, Padma Bhushan, Dr Chiranjeevi.

He has lots of interest on acting. Hence, he joined the Madras Film Institute, after completing his regular studies. He started his film career with 'Pranam Khareedu'. Later he played a small role in 'Punaadi Raallu'. He did not leave any single chance to act in films and got an opportunity to play a role in 'Mana Oori Pandavulu' directed by Bapu, which brought him into the limelight. His films like 'Tayaramma-Bangarayya, I Love You, Mogudu Kaavaali' brought Chiranjeevi's acting talents to the fore. At this juncture, 'Khaidi' directed by A Kodandarami Reddy earned a star image to our Mega Star. From then onwards people started calling him Supreme Hero.

Everyone in the State do know very well, how Chiranjeevi went up the ladder in the film industry after the blockbuster like 'Khaidi'. Now, some crores of people are showing affection and turned his fans and started loving him. His continuous industry, dedication, hard work, commitment, punctuality for the past 30 years earned him the present stature. He is moulding himself to suit the taste of each generation and changing himself for each film. He is showing novelty in dances, action scenes and dialogue modulation. Even now, while acting in a film, Chiranjeevi feels that it was his debut film and takes every precaution in his performance. That is why he has become Padma Bhusha, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi.

If a hero has to perform any risky shot, he should have the necessary physical fitness. It is not an exaggeration to say that it was the Mega Star who started the tradition of heroes' doing exercises everyday to maintain physical fitness. It was the Mega Star who was responsible for the change in speed of dances and fights in Telugu films.

Moreover, it is Chiranjeevi who had introduced the disco and break dances in Telugu films. Will dances and fights could only attract the audiences. Fighters and dancers could do them in a better way. But Mega Star had mixed his acting talents, inimitable dialogue modulation with dances and fights talents and earned a fixed place in the hearts of the audiences.

By the time Chiranjeevi entered the film industry, the film industry had mighty personalities like SV Ranga Rao, NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Krishna, Sobhanbabu and Krishnamraju. Despite the stiff opposition from all these stalwarts, Chiranjeevi was able to prove his calibre and withstood the competition. It is one and only Chiranjeevi who could maintain the fan following on the lines of the late NTR, for the past 30 years. As a hero, he not only portrayed the heroism but also able to show expressions in other forms. Especially, the Mega Star was able to show perfect comedy timing in a delicate manner in 'Chantabbayi' directed by Jandhyala and proved his talents as a comedy hero. Each of Chiranjeevi's film is a pearl of its own.

It may be mentioned here that Kodi Ramakrishna, who had directed more than 100 films now, had started his career with 'Intlo Ramaiah – Veedhilo Krishnaiah' with Chiranjeevi as hero. There were several blockbusters in Chiranjeevi's film career. 'Rakshasudu, Abhilasha, Challenge, Jagadekaveerudu-Atiloka Sundari, Alludaa Majaakaa, Attaku Yamudu-Ammayiki Mogudu, Indra, Tagore, Stalin, Shankar Dada MBBS' are only to name a few. If we want to write about the Box Office calibre and stamina of Chiranjeevi, one had to write a big book and not an essay. When it comes to performance, films like 'Rudra Veena, Aaradhana, Swayamkrushi, Subhalekha, Aapadbandhavudu' would stand as a testimony for Chiranjeevi's talent.

Megastar is not just a hero in films. He is also a Mega Star in real life. Inspired by the social service activities of Mother Teresa, Chiranjeevi decided to take up social service with the cooperation and help of crores of his fans. It was Chiranjeevi who proved that the fans of a film star need not limit their affection towards their heroes by garlanding the cut outs and celebrating the release of their favourite hero's film. In order to utilise their services, the Mega Star had launched the blood and eye banks at every nook and corner of the State and helped thousands of people to get sight. His blood banks are giving life to lakhs of people. All this is being done without any profit motto and only with social awareness.

Like this, he is taking up the social service activities without eyeing any kind of profits. People started adoring him for such kind of services. It is not an exaggeration to say that there is not even a single death because of non-availability of a particular group of blood in the State now. The reason behind this success is none other than the fans of Mega Star and their favourite hero Chiranjeevi. He is not just a human being but a super power. If he really wants to become the Chief Minister, it is a very easy task. In fact, every Telugu man wishes it. But, when some one moves this topic of joining politics before Chiranjeevi, the Mega Star gives a reply by giving a simple smile.

His son Ram Charan Teja is making his debut into films to continue Mega Star's legacy. His film 'Chirutha' is ready to hit the screen very soon. Despite playing in 148 films for the past 30 years, Chiranjeevi enjoys an indomitable charisma even now which is now or never in the Telugu film industry. For today, tomorrow or forever, Mega Star is Mega Star. His range of image, his glamour, his performance, the setting of records are just unbeatable. This Padma Bhushan, Mega Star, Dr Chiranjeevi is celebrating his birthday on August 22.

Indiaglitz.com wishes him many more years of life and wishes him a Happy Birthday.
