Though Kalyanram entered into the film industry through a film produced by Ushakiron Movies, it failed to make a mark as expected. Hence, Kalyanram himself launched a banner called NTR Arts and produced 'Athanokkade' introducing Surender Reddy as director.

The film gave him the expected break and the movie turned out to be a blockbuster and celebrated 100 days.

Again, his next flick 'Asadhyudu' was not that big hit. Next came 'Lakshmi Kalyanam' directed by sensational director Teja, which run as an average movie.

Now he is playing hero in a film, 'Vijayadasami' under the direction of V Samudra and produced on the banner of Sai Sarvajit Movies with Vedika as heroine. The shooting of this movie is almost in finishing stages and Kalyanram kept high hopes on the movie.
