Kargil War comes alive in ‘Stalin’

Kargil War is soon going to come alive and become a reality on the big screen. The arms, ammunitions, missiles and the heavy artillery used in the war fought against our neighbor and bitter enemy Pakistan has been manufactured by the controversial Swedish Company Bofors.

Identical and similar looking missiles, weapons and heavy battle tanks have been used for the film ‘Stalin’. Some 300 soldiers from the Indian Army came forward to take part in the shooting of war episodes in the film.

Approximately and roughly, One Crore Rupees has been spent on the erection of war episode set of the film. Story-wise, the events of Kargil appear in the second-half of the film. The confrontation and the fighting sequences have been in the city of Nasik.

The responsibility of acting as Pakistan soldiers fell on Bollywood artists, some 300 of them have been picked to act as Pakistani soldiers. Junior artists from Telugu film industry participated in huge numbers.

Director Murugadoss said, “The war and the battle episodes have been shot so realistically, that it will transport you to the original location of Kargil in Kashmir. We have used the same weapons, which were used to fight the enemy in the war at that time. We have placed special emphasis on getting the original ambiance and feel right. The Armed forces placed so many terms and conditions for its use. The end result will be there for you to see on the big screen in a short span of time”.

Chiranjeevi and Trisha are the lead pair in the film. Fast rising, Anushka is appearing in an item number.

The film is produced by Anjana Productions. The musical score by Mani Sharma. The audio of the film will be released at the stroke of midnight on August 22nd, which is the birthday of Chiranjeevi.
