There are remakes. There are dubbed movies. Now a days producers are intent on combining the two.

A successful film from another language is not simply dubbed. What they do is remake some portions especially the comedy and nativity parts to suit the local tastes.

We will have Maha, a dubbed venture of a Tamil movie, releasing in a couple of days time. Some portions have been reshot with the help of director Sukumar to appeal to the local fans' taste.

Similarly Amrithadhsare, the Kannada blockbuster, is being dubbed in Telugu. With Ramya and Sameer in the lead roles it has Amitabh Bachchan in a guest role and Jayasudha in a pivotal character.

Interestingly, the comedy track has been reshot with local artistes like Sunil, Dharmavarapu. Amirtha Varsham is produced by Concept films and presented by Anandi Arts.

So folks, dubbed/remake is the order of the day.
