Last week two big movies were released.

Pokiri and Veerabhadra. The long-delayed ventures started the long list of movies that are ready for the summer.

Pokiri stars Mahesh Babu while Veerabhadra has Balkrishna playing the hero.

The two films releasing simultaneously was seen as a flash point, and one of the films was expected to fall by the way side.

But the news is both the movies have taken fantastic openings.

Pokiri has taken a phenomenal start while the word of mouth on Veerabhadra is also encouraging.

Mahesh Babu's cool histrionics and Ilena's composed glamour is drawing crowds for Pokiri. For Veerabhadra, it is all about mass elements of Balakrishna that is doing the trick.

The year 2006 has been good for the industry so far with hits like Style, Lakshmi, Sri Ramadasu, Devadasu, Pokiri and Veerabhadra.

Now that puts pressure on Bangaram, scheduled for release later this week.
