In recent times, he tasted success with Okkadu and Athadu, both films with unlimited action. So naturally, he has cast aside his lover boy image and focusing his energies on action.

He is currently doing Pokiri and Sainikudu. Pokiri with Ileana and Sainikudu with Trisha.

Pokiri is directed by Puri Jaga while Gunasekhar has handled Sainikudu (Aswini Dutt, the ever active producer, is producing this).
