This one is about Morning Raga. The much-acclaimed film from Mahesh Dattani and starring Prakash Rao (son of Raghavendra Rao) has not secured any Oscar nomination has been speculated by the media.

The film has been merely submitted for consideration in the mainstream awards category of the annual Academy Awards.

The submission has been accepted by the Academy and it is among the 300-odd films whose applications meet the criteria.

Morning Raga would not be crossing swords with Amol Palekar's Paheli India's official nominee in the Best Foreign Language Film category - but would have to take on Hollywood biggies to secure a nomination in the Oscar 'Best Picture' category.

The Raghavendra Rao produced film has now been dubbed in Telugu.

This musical, with the backdrop of Rajamundry, stars Prakash Rao, Shabana Azmi and Perizaad Zorabian.
