Normally audio release events turn out to be full of vacuous homilies. Everyone praising everyone else in blind profusion.

The audio launch of Jai Chiranjeeva, as befitting such a big team, was, however, full of difference as camaraderie and real bonhomie flowed in attractive ease.

Those who were present on the occasion this morning will vouch for the spontaneous warmth that was all pervading.

It again underlined the esteem that Tollywood has for both Chiranjeevi and the film’s producer C Aswini Dutt.

The other attraction of the event was the ever-glamorous Sri Devi. Looking ravishingly slim, she was rightly described by Chiranjeevi as ‘the permanent address of glamour’.

Sri Devi, despite being bleary-eyed as she and her husband Boney Kapoor had landed from Dubai only this morning, was full of ebullience and impish smile. In fact, she was as attractive as Sameera Reddy, the film’s heroine.

And when she spoke in Telugu, it added to the picture of glitzy grace that she presented today.

Sri Devi and Union Minister Dasari Narayana Rao released the film’s album amidst wildly cheering fans and well wishers.

Dasari Narayana Rao spoke in measured tones, elaborating about Chiru’s humility and Sri Devi’s beauty.

Sri Devi’s husband Boney Kapoor, who was a special guest, spoke about his wish to do a film with Chiranjeevi in Telugu.

Comedian Venu Madhav brought the house with his witty asides.

One of the heroines of the film Sameera Reddy thanked Chiru for guiding her all through.

One of the Parchuri brothers referred to Chiru’s style to the nation’s new sensation M S Dhoni’s six-hitting spree.

Chiranjeevi, while thanking all, underlined the efforts of Mani Sharma in the film. ‘He has given a combination that will appeal to all,’ Chiru said of Mani Sharma.

Several men and women, who had donated blood through Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, were also honored on the occasion.

As we said, it was a function full of goodwill.
