Actor Sunil's upcoming film Krishnashtami joins pongal race. The film directed by Vasu Varma of Josh fame is all set to hit the screens on January 15 thus clashing with the likes of Balakrishna starrer Dictator which is scheduled to hit the screens on January 14. As doubts clouding over NTR's Nannaku Prematho release, it is being speculated that producer Dil Raju wanted to release Krishnashtami for Pongal to cash in on the festival advantage.

The film is the story of an NRI who relocates to India on tricky situations. Nikki Galrani and Dimple Chopade are playing the female leads opposite Sunil in the film laced with humour and emotions. Brahmanandam, Ashutosh Rana, Posani Krishna Murali, Suman, Sapthagiri, Pavithra Lokesh and Tulasi are playing crucial roles in this family entertainer. Kona Venkat has provided the story, while Dinesh has scored the music.

Sunil who tasted a flop with Bheemavaram Bullodu has pinned a lot of hopes on this film and is hoping that this film will give him a much needed hit in his career.
