Time was once when Venkatesh's hits were regularly remade in Tamil (especially by Vijay). But these days, things have gone topsy-turvy. Venky is no longer as successful as he was before. So he is playing it safe with remakes.

His Gharshana was a remake of Tamil Kaakha Kaakha Sankranthi was Anandam from Tamil. Though they wouldn't say, Subash Chandra Bose has been inspired by Kamal's Yenakkul Oruvan which itself was a copy of Karz.

Now that his career is going nowhere, Venky seems to have plumped for another remake. This time it may be Vijay's Thirupachi from Tamil.

The film is touted to be a success there and hence Venky wants to do it here. Since Supergood Films is the producer of the film, Venky has no problems, as his equations with them are extremely good.

Sankranthi was the last film he did for them and previously worked with them in movies like Suryavamsam.

If Tirupachi is indeed remade in Telugu, V Samudra, who made films like Simharasi and Sivaramaraju, may get to handle the megaphone.

Meanwhile, Venky is also committed to a film with Selvaraghavan (Sri Raghava) for an all-new film.

Thirupachi or Raghava's film, one thing is clear, Venky is desperate for success.
