Kamal Haasan's ambitious project 'Uttama Villain', directed by his actor friend Ramesh Aravind, is slated for a release on May 1st.

Producers have planned a big release in Tamil and Telugu. Now a production company named 'Thangam Cinemas' has approached court claiming that Thirupathi Brothers banner, which produced the film, owe them Rs. 2 crores and asked the court to not allow the film's release till the amount is settled. However, Thirupathi Brothers agreed to pay Rs.1 crore and said that they will pay the balance amount after the release.

The court has adjourned the case for April 28th and the film will release as planned, if the issue is settled.
