Excepts...
Played a Tomboy
I played a tomboy character in 'Dohchay'. My character's name is Meera and she is a medico. She is blunt and not interested in studies. She is not a shy girl and does what she wants. I enjoyed playing the character very much, because it is a regular shy girl character. I will be seen in boyfriend denims in this film. The title 'Dohchay' is very perfect for the film. It is used very well in the title track. If you see the film, you will understand it.
Easy to work with him
Naga Chaitanya is very chilled out person. As he is also in the same group as mine, it is very easy to gel up with him. He is very easy to work with and talk to. He jokes around on the sets. He knows what he wants to do in a particular scene and what expression he has to give. We had a lot of comfort working together.
Director with a clarity
Sudheer Varma is very easy going and very confident director. He knows exactly what he wants. He has a very good vision and knows how many shots he wants for a scene. He is super fast. He gives freedom for actors to try different things. The atmosphere on the sets was never serious. We had great fun working together.
They're Supportive
Producers B.V.S.N.Prasad and Bapineedu have been very supportive and it is only because of them, we made such a good film. The production values are very good.
Every industry is patriarchal
I think every industry is a male dominated industry. Whether it is Tollywood or Bollywood or India as a whole, it is male dominated. We stay in India and it has been patriarchal society. But I am happy that things are changing now and becoming better for women. If you compared to what it was earlier during our father or grandfather days, it has become much more balanced now. But still there need to be so many changes.
I personally feel that Radhika Apte must had a personal experience behind her comments on Tollywood. I was misquoted recently that I rebutted Radhika Apte's comments. It is wrong. We can't say her comments are wrong. Because it may or may not happen with you. I've personally not experienced anything as such.I've been treated well, whether it is Tollywood or Bollywood.
Strong but sentimental
I am very strong and can deal with many problems. At the same time, I am a bit sentimental. Though it sounds weird, I cry very easily. Thankfully, there has been no gossips around me. If I read something bad about me, I feel bad. But as an actor, we should not care about everything. I take criticism very positively. But you can't make happy everyone. So I don't care about everyone.
Two Hindi films
Apart from two Hindi films, I haven't signed any film in any other language. One is 'Dilwale' with Sharukh Khan, which also stars Kajol and Varun Dhawan. I will reveal the details if I sign any new film.
We rounded off the interview wishing Kriti Sanon all the very best .
