She has ability. But she had very little opportunity.

Abhirami, the long-legged, high-boned actress, is still to find fruition of her undoubted talents. The Malayalee who got a major break in Kamal Haasan’s Virumandi (now dubbed in Telugu too) has, however, not followed that with very many films.

In the event, her forthcoming Cheppave Chirugaali is one of major hopes. It has the potential to decide which way her career is headed.

In Cheppava Chirugaali, directed by Vikraman, she plays the lead opposite Venu. There is also Asim Bhalla as the third heroine. The film is a typical three-cornered love story.

Abhirami, according to insiders, has performed with understanding and ease. She is actually the star of the show, says a unit hand.

But such good words alone are not enough for Abhy Baby.

She needs more challenging roles.

Once the roles come, she herself will be on a roll.
