Following the footsteps of director Cheran, Praveen Kanth is venturing to play the lead role in his next film Thullal, besides directing and producing the same. Cheran’s home production Autograph was not only directed by himself but also starred him (Cheran) in the lead role.The movie went on to break all box-office records and was said to be a huge success during the year. Taking a cue from Cheran and Surya, Praveen Kanth, who directed movies like Ratchagan starring Nagarjuna, Jodi and Star with actor Prashanth in the main role, is producing, directing besides playing the hero in his next, Thullal.

Praveen Kanth introduces two new faces from Mumbai, Gurlin Chopra and Sonika in the movie. Vivek, Manickam Vinayakam, Seetha are also in the cast. Cinematography is by Suresh Devan and music by Dheena. On Thullal, Praveen Kanth says, ‘it’s indeed a bold move from me to play the lead role and produce the same.

‘I have written a song Kollathae which has lyrics for the youth’, he said and added that Thulal would unleash a youth festival across all theatres once the movie is released’.
